Come and join us as we explore the fascinating world of neurographic art. Neurographic art is a creative drawing process that combines simple lines, shapes, and color to create beautiful abstract images. No artistic experience is required, making this an accessible and relaxing activity for everyone. As we draw, we will learn how to transform spontaneous marks into flowing, interconnected forms that can help encourage mindfulness, creativity, and personal expression. This meetup will introduce the basic principles of neurographic art and provide an opportunity to experiment with techniques that can be both calming and visually rewarding.

Instructor brought a variety of pencils, erasers, including a book on drawing. Had us introduce ourselves before beginning. Started us drawing geometrical shapes. Shared a photo of a cat for us to draw. Throughout, he encouraged us by saying we didn't have to be perfect. Demonstrated how to "graph" our paper. All through the process, as he drew a cat, he spoke of what we could do to create shapes and shading.

We enjoyed being outside in the natural Arizona settings with other artists. We participated as a family, even though our daughter is the artists and we are not. It was a bit remedial for her but advanced for her parents!

Valentin was wonderful. He encouraged the group and explained the horizon, light and shading perspectives. One of the students had trouble following along due to Valentin's language (if I had to guess, I think she expected a very structured 1-2-3 approach, meaning draw a circle, now divide it into fourths, now shade this area). I watched what he was doing and followed along, not needing as much explanation. I liked the location and the class.

ARTISTS
Valentin Kash
NoneHi ! My name is Valentin. I have started painting 15 years ago. Before that, I was drawing sporadically, because I was working in the field of medicine, mostly as MD, psychoneurologist. Now, I am 74 years old, but I love drawing and painting, I love analyzing visual impressions, love interplay of colors. Last year I have devoted to watercolor, and I think that I will stay with this medium all my life. And all these last two years I was with Artefacto school, because I love these teachers, their style , and style of this school as well. I was painting with other mediums too, like oil, acrylic, they have own nuances, and I was painting with them a lot. Before, I have studied at Pima Community College, AZ; and Desert Museum Art Institute as well (drawing, oils, acrylics, watercolor), Artefacto Online School. I think, Artefacto has a real mastering programs! I have participated also in many exhibitions in Tucson, Arizona, and internationally as well! I was invited to participate in final exhibition online in Artefacto, it was a great achievement, because this school has students worldwide!

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson showcases a stunning collection of desert flora & fauna in well designed habitats. But as with all zoos, I fantasize unlocking cages to set the critters free. (Frowned upon and sometimes lethal). I did release a few birdies into this painting of the botanical garden. The white winged dove mooned me.

When I came across this gentleman?s vampire pictures, I was struck with the beautiful angularity of his face. I knew I had to capture it in a pencil portrait. Up to seven different colors usually make up the skin alone on these, and by the end the paper feels like a silk print.

Title or Location: Lanterns of Dusk
Lanterns of Dusk?was inspired by an evening in my son?s backyard in Murrieta, California. As the sun slipped behind the hills, the sky softened into brilliant oranges, purples and dark greens while the warm glow of lanterns waited their turn to light the gathering space. There is something special about that quiet moment at the end of the day when time slows down and daytime steps aside for the nighttime. This painting blends realism with tonal atmosphere to create a sense of peace, reflection
