It was my first experience with Mixed Media as a person who does art as a hobby and I had a wonder-filled time. The teacher, Jake LaCavera, was very knowledgable and communicated clearly and he made me feel confident that I could create something and to my great joy I love the piece I created in the class. This class made me want to do more Mixed Media art on my own!

Title or Location: Pieces Of Wonderland
My wife really wanted to fill an empty section of wall in her "Alice in Wonderland" themed office. The composition is a chaotic on purpose, but controlled by it's 2 central elements. She likes to look around a painting and find the little things. I worked on this over the courser of about 3 months and was able to finish it and gift it to her on Mother's Day 2025. The painting is 20x24 oil on canvas.

After living on the east coast all my life, we moved to the Tucson area almost 2 years ago. I have always loved the mountains, having lived in New England most of my life. But I never experienced the desert and the mountains. To me, it is a peaceful, grounded, and spiritual experience. I tried to portray those feelings here, and I will probably continue to do that again and again.

Title or Location: Diver Restored
This piece was painted to honor the craft of mechanical watches, which has survived for centuries and even through the digital and A.I. age. This design was based on the 1953 Blancpain 50 Fathoms, the first diver's watch. I wanted to capture the spirit of the design, as it is brought to original specs and into the sea environment for which it was engineered. The depiction of light through fluid, and the refraction and distortion of solidity, was a technical challenge that I happily explored.

I am a self taught artist, this piece I completed in 2022, It is just one of many that I have done, while I was using Acrylics, I chose this subject because, I thought it reflected a daughter on her big day, looking for something or somebody maybe she is desperately missing. I paint under the name of 'Papillon'

Title or Location: Dance of the Fireflies
While this painting was drying i was having a hard time deciding what do with it as it appeared unfinished. I began taping areas of it off and became inspired to weave lines in and out of the painting. As I finished painting the lines and was removing the tape I was struck by the feeling of a fluer-de-lis and fireflies dancing. I was now enamored ....

I really enjoy painting animals. Whether it?s pet portraits or wildlife. I strive to get the animals eyes as alive as they can possibly look. Once I get the eyes like I want them, I feel like everything else comes together.

Title or Location: When Puffins Dream
This lovingly rendered mixed media painting has been a journey of exploration over many months. It is on a 24x30? gallery wrapped canvas, and is the largest canvas size I?ve worked on to date. It started as a daily journal painting for an online painting class called ?Find Your Joy?. This piece has continued to evolve to this point, where it will rest for now. Like dreams, this painting has numerous layers. Though abstract, the end result looked to me like many of the gorgeous puffins I loved
