REVIEWS
It was my first experience with Mixed Media as a person who does art as a hobby and I had a wonder-filled time. The teacher, Jake LaCavera, was very knowledgable and communicated clearly and he made me feel confident that I could create something and to my great joy I love the piece I created in the class. This class made me want to do more Mixed Media art on my own!

Aubrilyn Sherwood
Hello!
I'm Aubrilyn, I am 22 years old, and I am ecstatic to be teaching art to my community! Since I was a little kid, I've always dreamed of being an artist in the future. I've been doing art since the moment I could hold a crayon or fold a piece of paper, and I've never stopped since. I am mostly self-taught, only having taken half of a semester's worth of life drawing and composition classes at Pima Community College. Outside of my art, I am a barista and server at a local resort, and I am currently on the path to pursue Wildlife and Nature Conservation, which I would love to work in and balance with a prosperous career in art.

I am a well-versed artist, and love any opportunities to pick up new skills. I have spent most of my life drawing and painting with acrylics, but have since been honing in on my skills in painting with watercolors, gouache, and oils, and more. My specialties are working with oil pastels, charcoal, and using mixed media. I also love any crafts, including crocheting, working with air dry clay, making beauty products, upcycling old or thrifted items/furniture, and designing home decor that's unique and personal. My journey with joining the local art scene is only beginning, but I'm excited to be given the opportunity to share my passion with others!

Aubrilyn Sherwood is available for private bookings

I am happy to do private lessons and bookings to anyone interested. I will do private art/craft lessons (for adults or kids), art therapy, and commissioned work, including (but not limited to) portraits, illustrations, weddings, parties, and events.

Please bear with me, as my schedule sometimes fluctuates due to working in resort hospitality. I am available most Saturdays and Sundays from around 12pm until 6pm. On weekdays, I am happy to schedule any private bookings in my spare time. Please reach out to me via email if you want to request a commission, event, lesson, or otherwise and we can schedule accordingly.

When a new niece or nephew are born, I paint a portrait for the parents. These handsome fellows are the newest members of our family, our great nephews. The photo had them on the opposite sides, facing out of the frame. As an artist, I could easily change that.

Hello, My name is Sandra Sanchez. The background on this particular art piece is quite interesting . I had just gotten a new sketch pad, and I wanted the first page to eye opening. I wanted a piece from the heart, something my audience would feel. I wanted this pic to be something I would feel every time I felt like giving up . I lost my older, and only brother to cancer. Shortly after , I lost my Grandmother who raised me suddenly. Each day is a struggle without my brother, and my Nana . I love

This piece is inspired by a character in one of my favorite childhood shows, Avatar: the Last Airbender. The behind-the-scenes animation process for this show was one of my first introductions to technical drawing skills at 10 years old. I remember watching snippets of the animators using live action martial art movement as reference. This show was also very spiritual it helped me learn fundamental concepts of nature, meditation, and the ebb and flow of life. The show recently made a comeba

"A Northern river, water flow and ice" (actual size 18x24" oil on panel)I have been fortunate to have a couple of friends who live in the Duluth area. They often walk the area by the Seven Bridges Road and take photos of the streams and river in that area. I saw several of their photos posted and realized the photos tied in strongly with my interest in painting rivers and moving, sometimes turbulent, waters. This one was during the Spring melt a few years back. This painting was shown severa
